Porcellio Isopods in South Africa

Large, active isopods that are amongst the easiest species to keep. The Porcellio genus contains some of the most popular and visually striking isopods in the hobby, making them an excellent choice for both beginners and experienced keepers.

Porcellio are terrestrial woodlice that spend most of their lives exploring the enclosure, feeding on decaying organic matter and searching for food. Many species are highly active and can often be seen moving around the enclosure, day and night.
